Elderberry SyrupA friend gave me this tip and recipe. Elderberry syrup; helps bolster the immune system and helps fight off and defend against whatever illness is going around. Take 1 tablespoon, twice a day; in the morning and at night. They sell the syrup at Shop Rite grocery, but making it is more cost effective and not hard to make.
Here's the recipe for Elderberry syrup: 3 1/2 C water, 1 C dried Elderberries, 1 stick cinnamon, hand full of cloves then add honey to taste, (I did about 2 tsp of honey, add more if you want it sweeter). Simmer for an hour. mash and strain. store in glass container, in the fridge, in a brown paper bag-to keep light out.
